Convention FAQs

Join us from anywhere in the world for NCPA’s 2020 Annual Convention – an immersive educational experience for independent pharmacists.

This is not simply a transfer of the live, in-person experience of the NCPA Annual Convention to a virtual offering. Instead, we are replicating the elements in a digital environment that deliver the most value to you and your pharmacy. The NCPA virtual experience will take the three most important elements of the in-person event — education, access to new products, and retailer/supplier connections — and incorporate them into innovative tools for users to meaningfully engage and improve their businesses.

NCPA Virtual Programs Code of Conduct

What can I expect from NCPA’s Virtual Annual Convention?

The NCPA 2020 Annual Convention will be an exciting and robust virtual meeting experience. It will feature:

  • A variety of business education and sponsored workshops, both interactive, live and on-demand, on a variety of topics with continuing education credits available;
  • A virtual Expo featuring many industry partners that typically partake in the in-person meeting, showcasing the latest products and services for the field;
  • A virtual networking lounge where you connect with other attendees and experts on hot topics;
  • And much, much more!

Why should I try to attend the live dates, instead of watching sessions at a later date?

During the NCPA 2020 Annual Convention’s live dates, you will have the greatest opportunity for an interactive experience with experts, industry partners, and other community pharmacy teams. For each business education topic, our industry-leading speakers will be available to answer your hard-hitting questions during a live Q&A session. During the Expo open hours, exhibitors will be manning their booths and be available for live chats. A majority of attendees will be online during the live dates, so this is also your best opportunity to meet and network with them.

How much time should I expect to be online during the event days?

Sessions will run from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET on both days and attendees are invited to take part in as many sessions as possible. During breaks, attendees can visit other areas of the NCPA Annual Convention, including the Expo while logged on to the platform. All registered attendees will also have access to all on-demand content from NCPA’s Annual Convention after the conclusion of the live meeting.

What if I’m busy during some of the hours of the virtual meeting?

That’s okay, you can still register! All of this year’s NCPA Annual Convention business education content will be available on-demand following the live meeting.

Can I connect with other attendees?

Yes! Through the virtual platform, you will have the ability to connect with fellow attendees in many ways. Choose from multiple networking opportunities around specific topics that will be ongoing throughout NCPA’s Virtual Annual Convention. Within each session you can also join the discussion by submitting questions to speakers.

What are the registration rates?

What’s included with my registration?

Your registration fee grants you access to the full virtual meeting beginning on Oct. 18.

Does the price include multiple attendees like a webinar setting?

NCPA’s 2020 Virtual Annual Convention is hosted on a single sign-on platform. It will allow only one user to navigate through and experience sessions, the Expo, chatrooms, and more. Each registrant must log in with a unique email address.

Can I register for single sessions or do I have to purchase the full meeting?

You must purchase the full meeting. Single sessions are not available.

When and how can I access the virtual meeting?

Registered attendees will receive a link via email to the virtual platform before the first live session begins on Oct. 18. The link will be sent to the email address you used to register and is how you will access all the meeting content. You’ll use the same link each day to access the platform for the live meeting and whenever you choose to view the on-demand content.

What if I don't receive the link?

Contact Eva Jones – NCPA associate director of conventions at and a member of the registration team can assist.

Can I share this link with others?

Just like an in-person meeting, registrations cannot be shared.

Do I have to watch the meeting from the same device used to register? One of our team members typically handles all the sign-ups but will not be the one participating.

Your registration login can be used on any device, but you will have to use the email address that was provided when you registered. Please ensure that the person in charge of registering provides individual emails, so every attendee can sign in using the required single sign-on credentials.

Is group attendance available or is it intended as an individual attendance?

As with the live meeting, the experience is intended only for individuals. Each registration allows one user to navigate through the platform and experience sessions, the Expo, chatrooms, and more. Each registrant must log in with a unique email address and the content can’t be exported out of the platform for a shared experience. Only registered attendees will be eligible for CE credits.

How will I gain access to the platform?

Look for an email about a week before the meeting begins on October 18 with unique login credentials and instructions. The event is hosted on a single sign-on platform and only allows one user to navigate through the platform and experience sessions, the Expo, chatrooms, and more.

I joined NCPA when I registered. What happens to my membership?

Your membership will remain active.

When will times and schedules for live sessions be announced?

We expect to update the agenda with a detailed schedule of live events and on-demand sessions on an ongoing basis. Continue to check the schedule for new information.

How much live content will be offered during the Virtual Convention?

Each day will feature multiple live sessions. Expect each day to begin around 10 a.m. ET and end by 9 p.m. ET with breaks for exhibitor interactions and networking. On-demand sessions will be available following the conclusion of the live event.

Education sessions will range between 45-60 minutes in length.

NOTE: All Virtual Meeting session times are on U.S. Eastern Daylight Time.

Will live content be available after the fact via recording, or only live?

Live content will be recorded, subject to speaker permission, and put on the platform for on-demand viewing within 24 hours so that participants can access all meeting content.

Am I able, or allowed, to share downloadable meeting content?

While handouts will be available to download, please note that no recordings/sessions of any kind that are accessed on the platform can be downloaded (or shared) at any time. This is a single sign-on and does not permit group sharing of content, meaning your registration is just like a meeting badge at an in-person event.

Will CE be offered for sessions during the Virtual Convention? If so, what is the process?

NCPA’s 2020 Virtual Annual Convention will offer 8.5 hours of live CE. The number of credits will be determined by how many accredited sessions you participate in during the virtual meeting. After the live meeting, you are eligible for additional continuing education by accessing and completing the available on-demand courses.

Will there be an Expo?

Yes. The Expo will be a fun and interactive way to connect with products and services covering every aspect of the industry. These vendors are eager to share their industry know-how and keep you up to date on the latest health care industry trends. The virtual Expo will give you the opportunity to engage in private and public chats, download materials, view videos, and much more.

Why should I try to attend the live dates, instead of just watching sessions at a later date?

During the conference live dates, you’ll have the greatest opportunity for an interactive experience with speakers, exhibitors, and other attendees. During each session’s time slot, speakers will be available for live Q&A with viewers. During our Expo open hours, exhibitors will be manning their booths and available for live chat. The majority of attendees will be online during the live dates, so this is also your best opportunity to meet and network with them. And we’ll have games/contests going on with great prizes that you won’t want to miss!

After the live dates, registered attendees can still view sessions and visit the Expo, however you may have to leave a message for speakers and exhibitors, who will get back to you at a later date. You can still chat with other attendees, but you’ll only be able to chat with attendees who are logged in at the same time you are. If you want the best opportunity to interact with everyone at Expo, try to join us on our live dates.
